Let us make a distinction. The member sites we link to, such as Melon Island or Cheese Island or whatever other island, are owned and copyrighted by their respective authors. To clarify:

• The original author(s) of member sites retain full intellectual property rights to their content; Food Islands™ cannot and will not claim ownership of a member site.
• The Food Islands™ network is not responsible for any content on member sites. Concerns about a member site should be addressed to that particular site's authors.
• A member website's legal policy does not apply to the Food Islands™ network.
• The Food Islands™ legal policy, stated below, does not apply to member sites by default.

The Food Islands™ Legal Policy

All content of the Food Islands™ network is owned and copyrighted by its authors. Unless you are the original author of such content or are granted the original author's explicit written permission, you may not use it to make money.

Derivative works, such as fanart and fanfiction, are allowed provided that they aren't done for profit. Due credit will be given for any posted or linked contributions, and the original authors retain all intellectual property rights. Anything submitted by someone other than the author(s) will not be linked or posted until we have his/her/their permission.
